THE ISSUES

Economy

Debilitating regulations, policies and taxes at the federal, state and local levels continue to lead uncertainty for existing and new businesses resulting in job losses in the region and county. As County Executive, Roger will focus on economic growth by eliminating unnecessary regulations, working proactively with business leaders to encourage investment in Lehigh County and promoting job training and re-training programs to make Lehigh County more attractive to employers and prepare workers for the jobs of today and tomorrow.

Taxes

Lehigh County taxpayers deserve to know that their tax dollars are being used effectively and efficiently. Roger is a fiscally conservative leader who has a history of standing up for taxpayers and opposing tax increases. As County Executive he will oppose unnecessary tax increases which hurt families, seniors and small businesses.

Public Safety

Public safety is the number one role of government. As a police officer and former Chief of Police for the City of Allentown, Roger will ensure that law enforcement and first responders have the resources they need to keep us safe, and he will oppose any attempt to defund the police.

Transparency

Government has grown too big, is too bureaucratic and spends too much. Lehigh County residents and businesses deserve a county government that efficiently works for them. As County Executive, Roger will protect the taxpayers and shine a light on government waste, fraud and abuse. He will make government more transparent so that the public always knows where their tax dollars are spent.

Smart Growth

Lehigh County has always been a leader in open space and farmland preservation. Recent development trends have led to overdevelopment in some areas of the county. As County Executive, Roger will protect open space and preserve farmland from over development by promoting smart growth policies that protect against overdevelopment and the proliferation of unnecessary warehouses.

Election Security

A representative democracy depends upon free and fair elections. Every voter deserves a system that makes it easy to vote and hard to cheat. As County Executive, Roger will restore confidence in our election system and ensure that every legal voter’s voice is heard free from corruption or coercion.
